The YTA’s Mentoring System

What’s it all about?

As part of the YTA membership you can get access to advice and support from experienced yoga therapy practitioners through their Mentoring network.

The Yoga Therapy Association encourages all Yoga Therapists to take advantage of Mentoring at any stage in their professional career, but particularly in the early years post-graduation.

Often the mentor will guide and support the mentee in determining their goals, give advice on professional development and work-life balance, along with supporting the therapeutic work of the yoga therapist.

A good mentor can help the mentee become more effective in their work, learn new skills, develop greater confidence, and make better decisions for their overall experience and career growth.

Mentors report many benefits as well, including satisfaction from seeing others develop; strengthening of technical, leadership, and interpersonal skills; and continuing to experience new ideas and insights.

Above all it is a great way to establish relationships with fellow yoga therapists, at whatever stage in your career you are at.

If you are a YTA members and you are looking for some support and advice on any aspect of your yoga therapy career; or you want to get involved in helping and supporting other yoga therapists and becoming a mentor yourself, then check out the article on Mentoring in the Knowledge Hub on the Members Page for more information.
